Microstructure and mechanical properties of an electromagnetic centrifugal casting NiAl eutectic alloy

摘要NiAl/Cr(Mo) eutectic alloy prepared by electromagnetic centrifugal casting (EMCC) has fine-lamellar eutectic microstructure, which consists of rapid cooling zone dominated by primary beta-NiAl, eutectic zone of beta-NiAl and beta-Cr(Mo), and hypoeutectic zone of primary beta-NiAl and beta-NiAl/alpha-Cr(Mo) eutectic. Compressive behavior of the alloy at 1000 degrees C follows the power law: epsilon = A sigma(n). The main fracture mechanism at room temperature is cleavage in NiAl matrix and stripping at the NiAl/Cr(Mo) interface.
