摘要 | The oxidation of ternary Cu-Ni-Cr alloys containing approximately 30at% Cr and 20at% Ni was studied at 700 degrees C and 800 degrees C in 0.1 MPa of pure oxygen with the aim of further understanding the oxidation behavior of three-phase ternary Cu-Ni-Cr alloys. The alloy contains a mixture of three phases, where the a phase with the most copper and the least chromium forms a matrix, while the,6 phase with an intermediate amount of Ni and Cr and the gamma phase rich in chromium are present in the form of particles dispersed in the a matrix. The kinetics of oxidation was rather irregular and deviated from the parabolic rate law. The oxidation gain of the alloy decreases with the time and its oxidation rate increases with the temperature. There is a complex oxide film on the surface of the alloy. The film consists of Cr2O3 inside, Cu-Cr and Ni-Cr spinet in middle and oxide rich in copper outside. |
