Synthesis of pure-phase YAG nano-sized powders by metal-alkoxide method and the effect of catalyst on the synthesis

摘要YAG precursor was synthesized by metal-alkoxide method using yttrium-alkoxide and aluminum-alkoxide as raw materials and acetic acid as the catalyst. After calcining precursors at various temperatures, nano-sized YAG powders were obtained. The calcined powders were investigated by means of XRD and TEM. The results show that, when the concentration ratio of Y solution to Al solution and catalyst to water are 1:2 and 10:1 respectively, pure-phase YAG powder is formed when calcined at 1100 degrees C for 2 h, and the sphere-like powder whose diameters range from 50 nm to 80 nm is well dispersed.
