Effect of Dy addition on microstructure and mechanical properties of Nb-Nb5Si3 eutectic alloy

摘要The microstructures of Nb - 23Ti - 10Ta - 2Cr - 18Si - xDy (atomic fraction (%) x=0.0, 0.1) alloys mainly consist of (Nb, Ti)(ss), alpha-(Nb, Ti)(5)Si-3 and gamma-(Nb, Ti)(5)Si-3. The Dy addition remarkably refined the microstructure, especially refined the particle of the (Nb, Ti)(5)Si-3 phases. Dy atoms will tend to accumulate at the interfaces between (Nb, Ti)(ss) and (Nb, Ti)(5)Si-3 phases. The segregated ratio is approximately up to 2.5. The Dy addition increases room-temperature and high-temperature compressive strength and room-temperature compressive ductility.
