AbstractThe crystal structure of a novel Ti-Al-Sc phase has been determined by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and convergent beam electron diffraction (CBED) in the Sc-doped TiAl alloy. The phase shows particle or strip morphology with the composition (Sc, Ti)(3)Al. The crystal structure is bcc with a=0.984 nm, point group m3m and space group Ia3d.
