Abstract | Lithium vanadium oxide LiV3O8 used as the cathode of rechargeable lithium batteries was made by a new synthesis method, in which LiOH, V2O5 and NH3H2O were used as starting reactants to produce precursor containing Li and V, and then calcining the precursor to obtain the resulting production LiV3O8. The X-ray diffraction patterns show that the LiV3O8 compound made by this new method has a different crystalline orientation compared with that prepared by traditional synthesis methods, and the crystallinity of the former is lower. The discharge-charge test results demonstrate that the LiV3O8 compound has good discharge-charge properties, with a discharge specific capacity of 264mAh/g in the first cycle and 249mAh/g in the fifteenth cycle. |
