AbstractBy using the first-principles discrete variational X-alpha method, the effect of Ir alloying in nickel-base superalloy has been studied, as well as the influence of S, P, H, O, N, B or C on the interface bonding strength between gamma phase and gamma' phase in nickel-base superalloy has been calculated. It proved that the Ir alloying moves the lattice misfit to negative value, which increases the bond overlap population and total bond order. Besides, the presence of S, P, H, O, N, B or C in nickel-base superalloys has pronounced influence on the interface bonding strength between gamma-Ni and gamma'-Ni3Al. Among them, C, B and N enhance the interface bonding strength, but S and P impair the interface bonding strength.
