Influence of crystalline state on internal friction frequency spectrum of copper

摘要Internal friction (IF) frequency spectra of polycrystalline copper, nano-structured copper and single crystal copper specimens were measured by an internal friction frequency spectrum apparatus. Three IF frequency peaks presented at about 170 Hz, 320 Hz and 490 Hz were observed at the internal friction tan Phi-f curves for three copper samples. The positions of IF frequency peaks are about the same for the three samples which have great difference in crystalline state. It means that the IF frequency peaks are not related to the dislocations and other crystal defects. It is possible to deduce that IF frequency peaks are associated with the nature of the crystal lattice.
