AbstractThe inhibition mechanism and the adsorption and desorption behaviour of cyclohexylamine phosphate (CAP) on iran electrode in Na2SO4 solution have been studied by electrochemical techniques. The results show that the inhibition of CAP is due to the negative catalytic effect, which mainly affects the anodic reaction. Its adsorption on iron electrode obeys the Temkin isotherm. The cathodic polarization curves call be divided into oxygen diffusion region, strong adsorption region and Tafel linear region. The anodic curves con also be divided into Tafel linear region, desorption region and non-inhibition region. The adsorption, desorption potentials and the CAP concentration follow a linear relation, but the CAP concentration has no effect on the adsorption range.
