Abstract | Visualization of structures and their evolution of nanocatalysts under gas atmosphere by transmission electron microscopy are crucial to identify the real catalytic structures, which gives a driving force to better correlate the structure-performance relationships and design novel efficient catalysts. This brief review summarize the recent in situ transmission electron microscopy investigations of nanocatalysts under gas atmosphere, which mainly focus on the structure and its evolution during synthesis, catalysis, and deactivation processes. It is expected to reveal the critical intermediates during the formation of catalytic structure, the metastable surface, or subsurface structure of active sites at working state and the induction factors during the deactivation and then provides the guidance for the catalysts design. |
