AbstractThe denitrogenation behavior during vacuum induction melting (VIM) Ni-base superalloy using CaO crucible was studied, and the dissolubilities of nitrogen under different vacuum levels as well as At and Ti adding amounts at 1600 degreesC were also calculated. The results show that At addition has evident effect to denitrogenation and Ti addition has adverse effect to denitrogenation. The increase of vacuum level is a powerful way to accelerate the rate of denitrogenation.
