AbstractSandblasting is a relatively common surface treatment for zirconia all-ceramic crown. However, the effect of sandblasting on the bond strength of veneering porcelain and crown is controversial in literatures. A meta-analysis can provide systematic analysis on the results of different studies. In this paper, meta-analysis was used to study the effect of sandblasting on the bond strength between the veneering porcelain and zirconia crown. First, the Medline database was adopted for literature retrieval, and then the quality of the literature was assessed, as well as screening and exclusion of the literature manually. Finally, 24 papers were included in the study after the data extraction and Review Manager software was adopted for data analysis. After the analysis, it was showed that the results of study in literatures were not biased, but there was significant heterogeneity. Then further removing the literature with large differences in data, the data were analyzed again, and the result still had high heterogeneity. Therefore, according to the current results, the sandblasting treatment could not increase the bond strength between the veneering porcelain and zirconia crown.
